1 series aluminum plate

Characteristics: Industrial pure aluminum plate has good elongation and tensile strength, good plasticity, corrosion resistance, conductivity, and thermal conductivity. The production process is relatively simple, and the production technology is relatively mature. The price has a huge advantage compared to other high-end aluminum alloys. The disadvantages are low strength, non heat treatment strengthening, poor machinability, difficulty in brazing, and easy to deform under pressure.

Application: Mainly used in products with low strength requirements, such as automotive insulation panels, billboards, building exterior decoration, wall decoration, electrical lighting, heat exchangers, kitchenware, conductive materials, chemical equipment, electronic devices, inland ship equipment, various containers (wine tanks, pressure tanks, tea stoves, etc.), instruments and meters, signs (equipment signs, road signs, motor vehicle license plates, etc.), hardware cookware Machine components that are not subjected to significant force.

2-series aluminum plate

Characteristics: Also known as hard aluminum, the main alloying element is copper. It has high strength and good cutting performance, as well as certain heat resistance. It can be heat treated, but its disadvantage is poor corrosion resistance.

Application: Mainly used in aircraft structures (such as skins), aerospace, weapons, engines, pistons, automotive airframes, ship hulls, and load-bearing components.

Commonly used brand names: 2017, 2024, 2A12

 

3 Series Aluminum Plate

Features: Also known as rust resistant aluminum plate, the main alloying element is manganese. The strength is higher than that of industrial pure aluminum plate, and the formability, fusion, and corrosion resistance are good. Due to the inability to heat treat for strengthening, cold processing is often used in the process to improve its mechanical properties.

Application: Mainly used in industrial pure aluminum panels and other areas with higher hardness requirements, commonly used in various fields such as kitchenware, food and chemical storage and transportation, heat sinks, household appliances (such as air conditioning, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.).

Common grades: 3003, 3004, 3014

 

4 series aluminum plate

Characteristics: Aluminum alloys with silicon as the main alloying element are mostly non heat-treatable and cannot be strengthened. Typically, the silicon content ranges from 4.5 to 6.0%. Low melting point, good melt fluidity, easy shrinkage, and good corrosion resistance; Has good wear resistance and heat resistance.

Application: Mainly used in welding materials, etc.

Commonly used brand: 4343

 

5 series aluminum plate

Features: It is a high-end aluminum alloy plate, with the main alloying element being Mg. It has good processing and forming performance, corrosion resistance, welding performance, fatigue strength, and moderate static strength. It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, but the surface can be polished, which is relatively beautiful. Resistant to marine climate.

Application: Mainly used in building decoration, pressure vessels, ship structures and offshore facilities, aircraft fuel tanks, automotive fuel tanks, automotive gas storage tanks, containers, etc.

Common grades: 5052, 5083, 5754, 5182

 

6 series aluminum plate

Characteristics: The main alloying elements are magnesium and silicon, with moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, and oxidation effect.

Application: Mainly used in fields such as construction, ships, rail vehicles, electronics, electrical electronics, durable consumer goods, etc.

Common grades: 6061, 6063, 6082

 

7 series aluminum plate

Features: Super hard aluminum alloy series, with the main alloy elements being zinc, magnesium, and copper. Representative grades 7050 and 7075, with excellent heat treatment effect. The deformed aluminum alloy plate with ultra-high strength has good plasticity after solid melting treatment, and has good mechanical properties, wear resistance, and fatigue resistance. The disadvantage is that the welding performance is poor and there is a tendency of stress corrosion cracking, which requires aluminum coating or other protective treatment.

Application: Mainly used as the preferred material for aerospace equipment, it is also widely used in various mechanical, mold and other processing and manufacturing fields.

8-series aluminum plate

Characteristics: It belongs to an aluminum lithium alloy, with lithium as the main component. Lithium is the lightest metal in nature, and the addition of lithium element to the aluminum plate can effectively reduce the specific gravity of the aluminum plate while ensuring its strength.

Application: Aluminum plates primarily used as bottle caps are also used in radiators, with most applications being aluminum foil.
